R5
R5 started as a visionary concept by my former boss, Ronald de Vlam, who sought to transform a small, two-room focus group facility into a versatile, upscale warehouse space. The project moved locations to a new warehouse next to Chicago's train tracks, where it was reimagined into a dynamic event and focus group venue. I was given the opportunity to create a mood board that helped spark the creative direction for the project, which ultimately led to my reimagining the brand identity as a whole. The design evolved into a striking mix of deep blacks and rich coppers, paying homage to the industrial surroundings, while teal accents added a lush, organic, and elevated touch. The brandmark combined elegance and sharp angles, mirroring the space's flexibility. I also worked closely with Ronald's wife on the interior design, ensuring every detail complemented the overall branding. Although R5 closed in 2020, it remains one of my most memorable projects.
